Bling it on!

In the quest to complete some more Christmas cards (and not have them all the same...which is sooo tempting!) I've been seeking out some challenge blogs. So this card was made to fit in with the brief for some 'bling' at Less is More

Unfortunately it's been quite dark here lately so that's the best piccie I could get! Hope you like it. TFL

Promarkers and digi stamps

I've always made a few cards here and there, but never really bought much stash for making them...they usually stem from left over scrapbooking supplies. Just recently though whilst doing a bit of blog hopping I've become more interested in some amazing cards I've seen using stamped images and fab shading using promarkers or copics. Now, copics are priced out of my range but I did find a great deal on sets of promarkers at Cowling and Wilcox so last week I got a few pack to try out...well, I LOVE THEM! They are so easy to use and come in such fab colours how could I not like them? Anyway, since I don't own many stamps I decided to have a go with some digi stamps...there are some great ones that can be downloaded free or for a very small charge so this has been my starting point!

Next, I decided to take part in a challenge.....So week 125 at Passion for Promarkers has the theme of 'Kraft plus one other colour' . Since I really like using kraft card in scrapping I thought this could be a great starting point for me! So here's my card....

The paper is a digi kit by Zoe Pearn called Winter Wonderland , the image stamp is from                Digi Stamp boutique  and the sentiment stamp is a freebie from cuddly buddly.

Haunted Eden

I took these photos yesterday and created the collage this morning and scrapped them this afternoon...I think that's a record for me!!! They always manage to do something nice and seasonal at Eden Project and this Halloween is no exception with a 'wishcraft' exhibit featuring lots of spooky activities including the 'pumpkin butcher'! he carved some amazing pumpkins giving my guys food for thought on how to carve theirs this year!

The layout is based on this weeks sketch at sketchy Thursdays

Ben

Finally on Friday of half term week I managed to get a couple of hours in my craft room to get a bit of scrapping done! It's been a busy old week with lots of painting (rooms not pictures!!) and also sleepovers, shopping and a visit to Eden Project to ice skate....lots of fun!
Anyway I decided to kit start the scrapping again with a sketch from Sketchabilities
it's my super cutie pie nephew......

Better than summer!

This weekend of high temperatures and glorious sunshine has been better than we get in the summer! I don't think I've ever lay on a beach and been swimming in the sea (without a wetsuit) on October in the UK before....I did this weekend! It was so great to have a few days of warmth and some time relaxing at the beach followed by a barbeque last night...top weekend!

Rough & tumble

A quick post to add a layout of my cutie pie little niece Caitie bashing her uncle!! Made using loads of scraps of paper left over from several scrapagogo kits. I vowed not to buy any more scrapping goodies until I had made a considerable dent in the stash I already had...doing OK so far!

Monday 19 September 2011

Busy little beach baby

Woohoo I did some scrapping over the weekend (rainy days are quite welcome sometimes!!). It's my scrumptious little nephew Ben having loads of fun on the beach eating sand and his yellow spade! It's based on  sketch #66  from Sketch Savvy.

Friday 16 September 2011

It's been a long time...........

since I last posted on here and a very long time since I did any scrapbooking! I had a six week break in the summer and did lots of visiting family and friends and also had an amazing trip to New York and Washington DC, both of which were totally fabulous.
We are now all back into the work/school routine with Beth having started at her new school and Dan entering his final school year...yikes! where did that time go? So I guess it's time to get some of the thousands (literally!!!) of photo's scrapped that we took on our travels.
So I'm off now to check out my fav challenge blogs to get some inspiration to get me going again - watch this space!

Happy

Just another quicky for today to blog a LO I did based on this weeks sketch at Sassy lil sketches

Quick scrapping!

These were the photo's we took on Friday and I have scrapped them already....highly unusual for me!
The LO is based on sketch 245 at pencil lines

Girls from Grease

It was Beth's year six leavers disco at school last night...the theme was Rock 'n' Roll so she got dolled up for the occasion. Here she is with her best friend........

Always happy to be together...........

that's Dan, Beth and Ethan, and they will be tomorrow since we are all getting together for a weekend away to celebrate dad's 70th birthday. Hoping to take a fresh batch of photo's to start scrapping nexy week too!

This LO was based on sketch 243 at pencil lines and I'm still using up old scrapagogo stash for the use it up challenge!

Funny girl

Beth loves to lark around and has a great sense of fun and playfulness about her....I love it (in small doses!)
I did this LO using up scraps from lots of leftover scrapagogo  kits and worked from sketch 161 at creative scrappers as my inspiration point. TFL x

Sun shine smile

This is based on sketch #106 at Twisted sketches  and features my lovely nephew Ethan. This was the first time I used spray ink on a LO...I must say I'm pretty pleased with the result!

Modern Day Princess

Just thought I'd post this LO I did for sketch 242 at Pencil lines of my super cute neice in her snow white dress brandishing a light sabre...she doesn't need a handsome prince to rescue her...she can take care of herself!!! All supplies used from various scrapagogo kits.

Friday 17 June 2011

Remember when it was sunny?

It's rained so much this week, I'm longing for some lovely warm sunshine again, so it cheered me up a bit to make a LO from a sunny day of my little neice Caitie playing in the garden. I used this weeks sketch from Stuck as my starting point and all of the supplies are from the February kit from Scrapagogo. Thanks for looking!

Leap Frog

I'm trying to get back into taking part in some sketch challenges over the coming weeks, here is the first of many (hopefully!!) It's for this weeks sketch at Sketchy Thursdays and feature Dan and Beth larking around doing leap frog!

Travel journal

I made one of these a couple of years ago for our Florida trip...it was great to jot notes in and add tickets, maps, park guides etc to. It also made it much easier when it came to scrapping my photos to add detail to my journaling. So, this year we have booked to go to New York for 4 days then on to Washington for a further 7 days, and since we are gonna be very busy whilst we are there I have started another to record the little details of the trip that I might otherwise forget. These are some of the pages I have done so far......

GCSE treats

Dan is almost at the end of his GCSE exams and considering he is only 15  (his school offer an accelerated curriculum) he has coped amazingly well...taking it all in his stride, he has studied hard and applied himself so well. I though it was therefore time for an after school treat........

They are white choc chip muffins topped with vanilla frosting and strawberry chocolate curls and fresh strawberries...he has a VERY sweet tooth so was delighted with them! Just had to make him a latte to complete the snack! I wonder how many weight watchers points they are? !! Maybe if I work REALLY hard at Zumba tonight I might be able to have one?

Friday 3 June 2011

A great day out

I love half term......especially when the sun is shining, it makes me feel so happy and relaxed, and today was no exception, we went to Lydford Gorge for a nice walk, had a look at White lady falls and the Devil's cauldron, all of which were fab! We also sat in a bird hide for a while and saw several birds as well as some super cute squirrels...they kept us entertained for quite a while (will try to post some piccies tomorrow). On the way home we stopped off at the farm to pick some strawberries....YUM!

Thursday 2 June 2011

All by myself

Caitie (my neice) is quite a feisty little tot and like to do things HER way and in HER own time....like explorig the beach here....

Tranquility

Sketch #47 from sketchbilites was perfect for a LO I had in mind using one of my fabby scrapagogo kits....

Life takes over AGAIN!

I can't believe I haven't blogged for almost three months!! Where did that time go? I guess I have just been caught up in the everyday things that life brings and not really had that much spare time to do any scrapping or blogging.....

Well, this week I have had a bit of slack, so I managed a few trips to the craft room and ripped into some paper (new and old kits) and made these......

Meet Ben

My gorgeous new baby nephew arrived on Saturday evening. I only have one photo of him so far but have already done a digi page!

Thursday 24 February 2011

Catchin' on

Well, I've been doing a bit more digi scrappin' and I think it's sinking in now enough that I'm managing some simple layouts without having to flip back and forth between tutorials now - woohoo!

Pencil lines have a great sketch right now and a template to work from in digi so I've created this layout using that template....

Wednesday 23 February 2011

One sketch two layouts

For this weeks sketch (144) at creative scrappers I've done two layouts, one is traditional paper scrapping and the other is digi, hope you like them both!

I used my kit from scrapagogo for the paper one and a mixture of a couple of digi kits both by Zoe Pearn from sweet shoppe designs

Tuesday 22 February 2011

Dabbling in digi again

In my quest to learn how to use PSE I have been watching a few more digi tutorials and had another bash at digi scrapping...I love paper scrapping  so digi won't ever replace that but sometimes it's just nice to try something new for a change. I used this kit from Zoe Pearn.

Sketchy Thursday's 2.17

Another challenge layout for a sketch over at sketchy Thursdays

BOO

Yep Halloween this time...yes I know it's February, but I just got around to scrapping these for a challenge here

Sunday 20 February 2011

Plodding on

I'm getting through the photo's from last year that I really wanted to scrap...not too many to go now to be ready to move on the this year's.  This LO is form photo's taken late spring in the bluebell woods, and I've used mainly 'Attic Treasures' kit from scrapagogo to complete it.

Just gonna have a spot of brekkie then we're off the Eden project for Dan to do some photography towards his art GCSE course work. TFL x

Autumn 'staged'

I've been busy creating a few more layouts to get me nearer to completion of the pages for my 2010 albums...here's another one.
This was a fun day throwing leaves around to capture the shots, hence the title 'staged'.

Monday 14 February 2011

New blog banner

I've just been playing around in picasa following a tutorial here and in less than 10 minutes made a new blog banner....hope you like it!

Fossil hunting

This collection of photo's was from Oct half term...so I'm still catching up!...can't wait to start on this years stuff, but have challenged myself to get last year's albums completed before I start on this years.

Check this out!

Scrapagogo member showcase

Yup...it's me!

Sunday 13 February 2011

Out of sync

I'm still scrapping last halloween and Christmas...completely out of sync with real time!!!

Thursday 10 February 2011

Still winter

It's still winter, but instead of crisp white snow and cold frosty weather we have mist, 'mild' temperatures and dreary grey skies full of rain clouds.....this damp weather plays havoc with my hair....it makes it go wavy and yucky and I officially hate it! We did have a nice snowfall back in December though and we made the  most of it by going out walking and sledging. I created this layout of Dan on the sledge this week to remind me that 'proper' winter weather is GREAT!

Wednesday 9 February 2011

Still going....

Getting more scrapping done that is............

Monday 7 February 2011

So Sweet.....

that's the title of my layout for this weeks challenge at creative scrappers.

Sunday 6 February 2011

A sketch

I love taking inspiration for a layout from a sketch, it's really great at kick starting the creative process when you've not done any scrapping for a while.

Scrapagogo not only produce great kits, but also provide loads of inspiration too....this layout is based on the Feb 'Blueprint to go' sketch.

It's my lovely little nephew looking so smart ready for his first day in school.......

Done some scrapping...woohoo!

Well following on from my previous post I did really have good intentions of blogging and scrapping and did neither - whoops!! Life has been so busy with helping Beth with her school project, making sure Dan gets enough revision for GCSE's done and getting ready for my Ofsted inspection which I had this week...all went well and I can settle down again knowing that I'm doing a good job!

I went to my craft room yesterday armed with a sketch challenge from Creative Scrappers (141) and this is what I came up with...

Tuesday 4 January 2011

Best of intentions

I  am very aware that my blog has been seriously neglected over the past couple of months.  I always have really good intentions to blog often, but somehow life takes over and before I know it another few weeks have passed by! I wonder how every other blogger manages to maintain a lively, interesting and frequent blog?

I'm not one for making new year resolutions, but I am seriously gonne try hard to blog often in the coming months......who am I trying to kid?!!!
