This is ....weee (waste electical and elecronic equipment) man at Eden Project. It's a photo from last summer, but he is still there if you want to go and see him.

Catch of the day

We were gonna go swimming today, but decided on a trip to Looe to see if we could catch some crabs...and we did, in fact we filled 2 buckets with the little nippers.
Also managed some lunch out and an ice-cream, and it didn't rain until we were back at the car...result! We noticed a sale of 25% off 'animal' clothing in one of the shops there and managed to come out with 4 pairs of shorts and 2 t-shirts for the kids, so all in all a pretty good day.

Scarlet

This is one of Beth's many build a bears...she's a bit of an addict!
I challenged myself to see how quickly I could put a layout together...this one took just 20 minutes!

Colour combos #129

Wow, third post in one day!!!!
Just a quickie though...this my take on this week colour combos challenge blog.

Twisted sketch #007

In addition to the sketch the brief was to use buttons or brads. I've had this chipboard smiley face for ages and never found an opportunity to use it..until now!

Surfs up

Just a couple of photo's from our day at the beach on Saturday. Dan had fun surfing with his mate and Beth had a great time on her body board...with a bit of help from daddy! She is getting better at doing it on her own now though. Me? Well I sat a read my Brits guide to Orlando...planning for October already!

Introducing...

Baby Caitlin! My sweet, adorable new baby niece born on Sunday 19th July.

This layout is my take on the challenge over at Mix it up. Using mainly white to do a monochromatic layout. I'm delighted with the result and will more almost all white layouts in the future.

Scraplift

I saw a really cool layout that I liked in the reader gallery of scrapbook inspirations this month,
by Jenny Cragg.....

Here's my version.....

I don't often do scraplifts, but love the way this turned out.
We were going crabbing today, but it just keeps on raining heavily so, another lazy day at home I reckon. Beth is not feeling too great either, so she's tucked up on the sofa with a movie and a bucket of popcorn, so I guess it'll be a bit more scrapping time for me!

Woohoo...summer break!

Well, I'm finally on holiday for the summer break.....a full six weeks! After a visit to the local art shop this morning to get acrylic paints and A3 pads and canvases for Dan and Beth, I have spent quite a lot of today scrapping (mainly last summer's photo's).

Weather permitting tomorrow, we are going crabbing, and then over the weekend we are going surfing/boogie boarding.

Anyway, this weeks challenge at pencil lines was really good, so here's my take on their sketch...

It's me and my gorgeous lil' nephew. He is NEVER still, so to get this photo of him being still was so great...it was on the tree top walk at Kew gardens last summer.
I'm really enjoying stitching on layouts at the moment, and find the bazzill stitching templates a really great guide.
This next LO is also from photo's taken on the same day......

Wonder

I did this LO for this week's challenge over at Twisted sketches , the sketch has two landscape photo's on, but I used one portrait instead. You also had to use at least one rubber stamp, so I stamped and cut out the star.
This is the only scrappin' I have done this week. I've been busy working and also not felt really very well, but nothing I can really put my finger on...just feelin' lethargic I suppose!
Dan has completed and his scuba diving course for challenge week at school and loved it.
Beth has finished school now for the summer break and will go back in Sept to year five.
I finish work on Tues next week, and also have a full six week summer break...yahooooo! It will be great to spend time with my own kids instead of other peoples!!
Anyhow, off to make nachos and fajitas, and gonna watch a movie with my guys tonight... see ya!

Peek a Boo!

This is my take on sketch 143 from Pencil Lines
It's a great way to use up tiny scraps!

I've had a pretty tiring day, but still managed a bit of scrapping, so I'm a happy bunny!

Dan started his 'challenge week' at school and is learning to scuba dive...he enjoyed his first day today, and is looking forwards to the rest of the course.

That's it for now! Bye x

Puddle jumping

I'm quite pleased with this layout...

It's for the mojoholder challenge 117.

It's my super cute nephew Ethan at Kew Gardens last summer...he couldn't resist a spot of puddle jumping, much to my sister's dismay!

Colour challenge

I created this layout for the Color Combos #128 challenge.

It looks a bit out of place in July, but the piccie fitted the colour scheme so I went with it...even if it is out of season!

Pencil lines 142

Here's my take on this weeks sketch over at pencil lines.

I've used a bit more of my scrapagogo kit....I was really pleased when it arrived because I knew I had some great photos to match in with the colour scheme.

I'm looking forward to the next kit already.

Scrapagogo June Kit

I love the scrapagogo June kit...such great colour combos.

I've done 2 layouts with the kit so far...

Challenge.. Twisted challenge #005

Twisted sketches #005 is to work to a sketch and incorporate fabric, mine includes a heart cut from felt....

It's my cute nephew on the beach on Christmas eve last year. We always go to the beach on Christmas eve with family and friends to get a breath of air, give the kids a break from getting too excited and have fish n chips together...it's kind of a tradition now!

Travel Journal

I'm feeling quite pleased with myself for having completed my first mini book/journal. Way ahead of time as well ( I won't be using it until our hols on October!)
The inspiration came from here...http://craftybeast.blogspot.com/2009/05/honeymoon-travel-journal.html ...so many thanks!

I had loads of bits n pieces that were left over from other projects, so the only thing I bought especially for this book were the book rings!

Most of the paper used was from the K&Co 'wild saffron' range that I had lying around.

I intend to make notes as we go through the holiday and maybe add a few small photo's when we get back. It's mainly to remind me of 'what, where and when' though for when I start doing my holiday layouts.
