Challenges.....

Over at Just Bex there are some cool challenges to take part in. I've done 2 cards, 1 for the 'white stuff' challenge (to make a card with plenty of white space) and the other to use paper piecing. I'm pleased with the ladybird one, it was only a case of punching circles!...nice and easy!

First layout since June!

Finally! I've done a scrapbook layout...my first one since June!

I've been so busy and to be honest have had very few ideas for any of the vast amount of photos I would like to scrap, but the mood took me today and I had a tiny bit of spare time, and this is the end result!

I've used 'my minds eye' papers and bazzill flowers. I think the title is from K& Co.

Now that I've done one layout I'm hoping to get the 'bug' again and do a few more!

Busy busy busy

I can't believe it's been soooo long since I last blogged! I have been so busy with work and family life that I have had little time for anything else for quite a while.

Anyway, finally today I got a bit of spare time and made a couple of cards.

One for a wedding I'm going to soon and the other for friends who have just moved house.

Need a lift?

A competition over at Just Bex is to 'lift' a project from this blog.

The card I am lifting is here.....

This is my interpretation of it.....

Feeling fruity

I made this card for the 'feeling fruity' challenge at Just Bex

This next one is also for a challenge at Just Bex, it's using one of Sue's fabby sketches...thanks Sue!

Lisa also set a challenge to use some lace on a card or layout, I made a card....

Another card for a challenge set by Sue, simply to use flowers!

Better late than never!

I made a card for sketch 4 at http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/ and then realised that was last weeks and there is already a new sketch up for this week! Anyway, I've done it so I'll blog it!

This is the sketch

And here is my card

Rain rain go away.....

come back again another day!

I'm fed up of being rained on just about every time I leave my house. It's always at school dropping off time, nursery collection time and just after school when the children want some well earned recreation and a little jaunt to the park!

Anyway, mini rant over, here's a layout I completed recently......

No there isn't actually...blogger wont let me upload it right now....argh!

Back later...........

Strawberry fields forever

We had a lovely family weekend. Swimming twice, a trip to the cinema to see 'The Hulk' which we all really enjoyed. Dinner at Pizza Hut...Yummy! and a trip to Kitley to pick some super sweet strawberries and raspberries. Now that's what I call a good weekend!
Today, I had an unexpected day off, so I've had a good old tidy up, and done some baking. I've made a quiche, and baked some scones to have with the strawberries we picked, just need to buy some clotted cream now! The diet will have to resume tomorrow!

Monday 23 June 2008

Yum Yum Yum!

I made a card featuring cakes for the challenge at 2sketches4you
this is the sketch

and here is the card....

Chocolate is my favourite kind of cake and Dan made one at school today! Looks delish doesn't it? Guess what?...IT IS! Yum yum yum!

Cute card Thursday challenge

The theme this week is birthday, here is my card

Also just finished this layout

Must do better!

I'm not very good at this blogging lark really....keep forgetting to update it. Life just seems to get in the way and before I know it another week (or three) has passed.

I've been busy working and generally out and about with the kids.

I have managed to do a bit of scrapping though, I've completed the challenge for the chipboard swap over at Just Bex. I swapped with Tracy and got this........

I had a play around with it and decided to ink and emboss it with sparkly embossing powder and made this.......

Hope you like!

The Boss

Yep, Bruce is back. I want to see him last Wednesay at Old Trafford and he was awesome!
He opened with 'No surrender' and within 30 seconds had the crowd eating out of his hand.
Lots of the songs were from the new album, but he also did requests, picking signs held by the audience.... how many rock stars will do that? He belted out song after song with such energy, it's hard to believe he is 58.
I hadn't been to a been rock concert for ages, but boy was it worth the wait!

More challenges.....

Challenges

There's a big challenge weekend going on at Cards by Carolyn.

Here's my first one.

Thursday 15 May 2008

It's here!

My super duper fabulous raffle prize from Kirsty .
All the stuff was packed into this gorgeous very large tote.........

The next photo of all the stash doesn't really do it any justice at all, there is just so much!

There are several full scrapbook kits, loads of chipboard shapes and albums, tonnes of acrylic shapes and album. Lots of alphabets, gorgeous handmade jewellery, stickers and rub-ons galore, tools, and absolutely heaps of clear stamps, oh a £20 voucher too! I feel so lucky! I was utterly gobsmacked when it all arrived this morning.

Thanks again Kirsty!

2 Cards and a layout

Over at Just Bex there are all sorts of great challenges going on.

I made these next two cards and LO for some of these challenges.

Saturday 10 May 2008

Most improved player......

Just got back from Dan's footy presentation and thought I'd just post a little piccie of him with his players trophy, and this season's most improved player trophy and medal too! His coach said some great things about him and how dedicated to training he has been, so I had a very proud mum moment....sigh!

Finally.....

I got around to doing some crafting! I've had a busy couple of weeks with all sorts of stuff, but finally yesterday I completed a LO.....

It's Dan when he was about 18 months old...so cute and so blonde...yummy!

It's another gorgeous sunny day here, and what am I doing?........cutting grass and weeding. Think we might pop out later though for a picnic somewhere.

Friday 2 May 2008

OMG!

Check this out....

The winner is me!

I can't even begin to tell you how happy and amazed and giddy I am!

Orange & Yellow Belts!

The photos above are my children going through their taekwando grading today.
Can you see the concentration on their faces? They were so nervous, but I'm happy to say they both passed and Dan now has an orange belt and Beth has her yellow!

Well done guys, you did really well.

Monday 21 April 2008

Pink!

I never really used to like pink very much, but since Beth is such a girlie girl pink is a colour that is a now a lot more common in our household, and since she often wears pink, many of my LO's now include a fair bit of pink too! So, I was pleased when this month's scrapagogo kit contained black (my fav) and pink! I love these kits, they are so well put together and never disappoint.

Anyway, here's my first LO with it.

Sunday 20 April 2008

Footy

I took Dan to play his last league game today and they won 5-3 away from home....great result and Dan set up a great goal too! So well done Dan.

Beth is back from a school residential that she went on for 3 days, she did sailing and archery amongst other activities and had a great time by the sounds of it. It's taken her all weekend to recovery though, she was sooooo tired! Bless.

I feel almost like I blinked and missed the weekend somehow, it seems to have flown by faster than usual, don't you just hate it when that happens?

Saturday 12 April 2008

AWOL!

Can't believe it's been almost two weeks since I last blogged! Where does the time go?

Dan played footy today and his team won 7-2...woohoo!

We are off out tonight to see friends and have Chinese food and play Wii, so looking forward to that, and a fairly lazy weekend really....bliss! Might even do a bit more scrapping.

Anyhow, I have managed three LO's these past few days, and here they are........

Hope you like 'em!
Have a great weekend, whatever you are doing.

Monday 31 March 2008

New Scanner

Having got a new scanner last week I set to work scanning in and re-printing older photos from our family albums for scrapping. It's so nice to have a close look at photos from few years ago and I've got loads of images I eventually want to scrap....I just need 48hour days now!

This first LO however is a digi photo, but from about 3 years ago!
I've used the March scrapagogo kit....Love the scenic route tree paper!

This one is using scanned photos from early 2002 of my two little cheeky monkeys!
This LO is from the February scrapagogo kit.....I wasn't sure about this kit when it first arrived, but I have done loads with it and decided I really liked it after all!

Finally for today is LO with photos from 1999, when my son Dan was born.

Bazzill cardstock, DCWV patterned paper.

Sunday 30 March 2008

Super Cute

A quick LO of my super cute nephew playing footy.
He's so fast, it makes it difficult to get a decent piccies of him...we took over 200 to get a handful of half decent piccies!
He loves to play ball...(although he calls it a 'bomb'!!)
I think you'll agree he is super cute though!

Thursday 27 March 2008

A 'Just because' Card!

I made this card just because I could....not for a challenge, or because I needed one to send, I just made it for the fun of it! It's a bit different from my usual style, but I really like the calm colours.

Arty Girlz Challenge #27

The challenge is to make a card in chocolate colours....yummy!
I picked MM paper, Hero Arts cupcake stamp and sentiment, and made the scalloped edge with my corner rounder. The scalloped circle is the super duper woodware punch.

I'm off to Plymouth shopping now, Beth has some 'build a bear' vouchers she is itching to spend!
See ya later.

Wednesday 26 March 2008

My paperworld challenge

This card is my take on the sketch challenge over at My paperworld

Penny Black stamp (again!!), primas and good old cuttlebug embossing!

I also did a LO today, but have entered it into a competition at scrapbook magazine, so will have to show you that at a later date!

Papertake challenge

This card is for this weeks Papertake weekly challenge

Not sure who makes the patterned paper, but I love the colours, I got it in a PIF (lucky me!).
Penny Black 'Hot but Cool' image stamp, and Hero Arts Sentiments stamp.
Hope you like it!

I'm hoping to do some more scrappin' later, so watch this space.....

Tuesday 25 March 2008

CPS Challenge

This is the card I did for this week's CPS challenge sketch, which also fits in nicely with the challenge at Cute Card Thursday too...all creatures great and small!

It's a Penny Black stamp called Daisy Chain, DCWV paper (last years spring stack!) and good old Prima flowers.

I'm hopefully gonna get time to do more challenges later...see ya!
